SUMMARY:Make a Joyful Noise: Frost Chorale with Sandra Lopez
DESCRIPTION:University of Miami's Frost School of Music Chorale in concert\n\n\n\nIn celebration of the 100th Anniversary of the University of Miami and the Frost School of Music\, Martha/Mary Concerts is pleased to present the Frost Chorale with Sandra Lopez for a program honoring the University's remarkable beginnings and the spirit that has shaped its first century. From its founding in the wake of the great hurricane that inspired the University's name\, to its rise as a beacon of artistry and innovation\, this concert reflects a legacy forged through resilience\, vision\, and brilliance.\n\n\n\nThe evening's theme traces a journey from origin to radiance. Music evocative of wind and sea recalls both the natural forces that marked the University's birth and the waters that surround and define our South Florida home. Jake Runestad's The Secret of the Sea anchors the program with shimmering textures and contemplative depth\, inviting listeners into the mystery and power of the ocean as both literal and symbolic source of life and inspiration.\n\n\n\nThe program also celebrates the creative community that defines the Frost School today. Works by University of Miami faculty composer Shawn Crouch and distinguished alumnus Cristian Grases stand alongside music by Eriks E envalds\, Irving Berlin\, Mondonville\, Atognini\, and others repertoire that spans centuries and styles\, reflecting Frost's expansive artistic reach. Together\, these voices embody a school that honors its roots while continually shaping the future of choral art.\n\n\n\nMake a Joyful Noise is both tribute and proclamation: a celebration of a century past and a confident affirmation that the light of the University of Miami and the Frost School of Music will shine ever brighter in the years to come. Special thanks to Miami Salon Group for your support.\n\n\n\nPLUS: All concerts are family friendly. Free onsite parking. Ticket includes post-concert artist reception and curated art exhibit featuring MDCPS artists. Wheelchair accessible. Questions? For directions and more info see MarthaMaryConcerts.org or call/text 305 458 0111.
